Why would someone start spinning their dog around on the end of its lead when it attacked another [bigger] dog? Why not just pick up their dog? Imagine the scenario: man with vicious tiny dog starts to whirl it around in mid air in an attempt to levitate it above the bigger aggrieved dog. Obviously the big dog is going to be whipped up into a frenzy and jump up and grab the little one? Not a good moment, especially when the man decided to kick the bigger dog [Uno], missed and landed on the floor with his dog on top of him and Uno still attached.

 All tennis balls belong to Uno. People might think that their dogs have their own, tennis players might also, but they're wrong.

Latest from the world of education; after teaching a rather convincing and rocking class on Victorian England and playing the role of Victorian teacher I was interested to field a couple of questions from twelve year olds on things like caning. The prize has to go though to the boy who wanted to know, 'Why they used carbolic soap and not shower gel?' in Nineteenth Century England.

Typical drive from Lignieres to St. Amand:

Driving along and suddenly the little, white renault in front does an emergency stop. 'Oh my goodness what have they hit!' Is my first thought, as I just avoided missing them! Then the doors of the car fly open and out scramble a couple who proceed to leap over a hedge into a field.

My curiosity gets the better of me and I slow right down to see what happens next. They're picking mushrooms!! Yes, some French would risk a pile-up to be the first to some champignons!
